Project 365 day 25

This is a picture of my horse, Mickey, grazing in back...not a great shot but I had a busy day today!

Project 365 day 24

This is a leaf, long dead on the ground, from last winter..the curve of the oak leaf was interesting to me;  so, as a result I shot it and then converted to black and white since it was devoid of color.

Project 365 day 20

Took this right after sunrise...the light green leaves look a lot better in black and white, plus the shape of the large tree is more visible than it was in color..

Project 365 day 19

I took this today on my way down the highway..put the camera on the steering wheel to stead it..the clouds were amazing this afternoon.

Project 365 day17

Today's image is of a cluster of mushrooms growing on a fallen tree...I used a painterly technique to soften the image a little bit and give it an abstract feel.

Project 365 day 16

I recommend this project to every photographer!  It is a massive creative endeavor but well worth it..today I was struggling but knew I had to find something to publish..after some searching inside and outside, this shot looking down from my hayloft interested me...so here it is.

Project 365 day15

Today's image is a birch tree with a bush, covered with young leaves, brushing up against it...I love the colors of the leaves in spring, they are such a bright green...this challenge to myself has been one of the best ideas I have had..by shooting every day and trying to get something worthy to publish is a lot of fun and a great way to improve my photography.

Project 365 day 14

These flowers are on a tree in my yard..I think it is a pear tree that took root many years ago from one of my neighbor's pear trees..will have to wait and see what happens or if it has any fruit..I never knew this tree was even in my yard since it is well hidden by brush and pine trees.

Project 365 day 13

Another infrared image of a tree line along a road...there is something addictive about using that infrared G7...it is fun converting to black and white or using a channel mixer to get the blue tones by reversing the channels.

Project 365 day 12

This was taken with my G7 infrared camera...this camera is a blast to use in summer when everything is green..if you want to see some amazing infrared images, visit Nevada Weir's website..she photographs travel and journalistic images with an infrared camera.

Project 365 day 11

This image was taken on a trip to Providence this afternoon...with an amazing blue sky, the reflections in this building were fascinating, as was the curve of the glass wall.

Project 365 day 10

This morning, one of the bridles on the wall caught my eye...it is cloudy today, with soft light...it worked well with this image which is low key with a few highlights.

Project 365 day 9

In an act of desperation this morning, I started photographing all the lights in the house..this one seemed the best composition..plan to remove it later today if I find a better subject...

Project 365 day 8

This is a rhubarb leaf backlit by the sun this morning..I like the texture, detail and soft light.

Project 365-day 7

This is an IR image taken with my converted Canon G7...it was early this morning on my walk with Ralph: the sky was clear, unfortunately, not many trees were green, so I had to resort to using the pine trees...when the rest of the oaks and maples are green, there will be a lot more possibilities for images..I love the way the sky looks when you switch the red and blue channels in PS.

Project 365 day5

This is a selective focus image of the toys in my dog's toy box...the colors caught my eye this morning; it is an image about color and fun.

Project 365-day 4

This is a panorama taken on my walk with Ralph..this was a lovely area at one time, until it was logged, and now only a few trees are left along the ridge..

Project 365-day 1

This is the first day of a project that has eluded me for a long time...After hearing a lecture by Parish Kohanim, I am determined to do a 365 day photography project:  shooting every day but not just shooting, trying to get something good to post. It will certainly be difficult to shoot every day and get a quality image, but I am up to the challenge and will try my best..Parish was very inspiring to listen to, he wasn't only a photographer and Canon explorer of light, but he was a philosopher in many ways..and an inspiring person.
So this image is taken with the Canon G12, of a tree reflected in a puddle after a hard rainstorm last night..used my foot to create some ripples in the water..
